Mr. Joey L. Haney
Superintendent

Mr. Joey L. Haney, Superintendent of Union County Schools, formerly served as Assistant Superintendent for Operations and Administration at Newberry County School District.  Mr. Haney served 20 years as High School Math Teacher, Coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal at Whitmire High School and Whitmire Community School.  He has 27 years of experience in education with 20 years in Administration and is looking forward to working with the Faculty and Staff at Union County Schools.   After graduating Lockhart High School in 1990, he completed his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Secondary Education Mathematics at USC-Spartanburg.  Later, he attended USC-Columbia to complete his Master's of Education Degree in Educational Administration in 2004 and Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration in 2014.  Mr. Haney appreciates the opportunity to return home and help provide the students of Union County the best opportunities.
